Nursery (Canaries)
In our Nursery Environment, the smallest members of our community embark on a beautiful journey of discovery and growth. Designed with warmth, comfort and curiosity in mind, this cosy and nurturing space offers a gentle introduction to early learning. It’s a safe haven where your baby is encouraged to explore the world around them through a variety of sensory experiences. From the soothing sounds of music to vibrant colours, soft textures, and the introduction of new tastes, every detail is carefully considered to support their development. Our educators take the time to build strong, trusting bonds with each child, creating a calm and reassuring environment where your baby feels secure, loved, and ready to flourish.
Toddler (Lorrikeets)
The Toddler Environment at Fireflies Early Learning is thoughtfully designed to nurture curious minds and busy little bodies. This safe, engaging space invites toddlers to explore, create, and grow as they begin to develop a stronger sense of independence. With a focus on both fine and gross motor development, children are supported through hands-on activities such as building with blocks, dancing to music, climbing, and engaging in energetic outdoor play. These experiences help build coordination, confidence, and resilience. Our educators weave in rich sensory experiences and interactive art opportunities that allow toddlers to express themselves freely, fostering creativity and imagination. Every day is filled with opportunities to make new discoveries, build friendships, and deepen each child’s connection to their world.
Pre-Kindergarten (Kookaburras)
In the Pre-Kindergarten Room, children are supported as they take exciting steps toward the next phase of their learning journey. This dynamic and thoughtfully designed environment encourages growing minds to explore, question, and discover through a balance of structured learning and imaginative play. Foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and science are introduced through engaging, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and a love of learning. Whether they’re experimenting with cause and effect, recognising letters and numbers, or investigating the natural world, children are gently guided by our experienced educators who make learning meaningful and fun.
Kindergarten (Emu)
Our Kindergarten Environment offers a vibrant, government-approved program designed to support children in developing the skills and confidence they need for a smooth and successful transition to school. This thoughtfully curated space blends purposeful learning with play-based exploration, allowing children to engage in a wide range of activities that build foundational skills across literacy, numeracy, science, and the creative arts. Each day brings new opportunities for discovery—whether it’s exploring the life cycle of a butterfly, experimenting with patterns and numbers, or expressing ideas through painting and storytelling.

Shendell
Centre Director
Shendell is the Centre Manager at Fireflies Early Learning and brings over 7 years of experience in early childhood education and care. Known for her warm smile and positive, approachable nature, Shendell leads with enthusiasm, kindness, and a strong commitment to quality care. She has built strong, lasting relationships with children, families, and her team, creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all. Shendell is passionate about ensuring every child feels safe, secure, and respected, and is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for families in her care.
Angela
Assistant Centre Manager
Angela brings over 28 years of experience working with children from birth to 18 years across early childhood, primary, and secondary education. She is passionate about creating safe, welcoming environments where children grow into confident, capable learners. Angela values strong, respectful relationships with families and colleagues and aims to build a sense of belonging that feels like an extension of home. Her philosophy is simple: “Enter as strangers, leave as friends, return as family.” With her playful spirit and positive energy, Angela often says she’s “a child trapped in an adult’s body”—bringing joy and authenticity to every day.
Nicole
Senior Early Childhood Teacher
Nicole is our Senior Early Childhood Teacher at Fireflies Early Learning. With a calm, friendly nature and a passion for early education, she brings warmth, structure, and insight to every learning experience. Her teaching approach is grounded in understanding each child’s unique needs and strengths, creating an engaging and supportive environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and growth. Nicole’s kindergarten program is designed to prepare children for a successful transition to school through meaningful, hands-on learning. With Nicole, every day is an opportunity for discovery, development, and fun—setting strong foundations for lifelong learning.
