Building Essential School Readiness Skills

Independence & Self-Care

A Day in the Pre-Kindy (Kookaburras) Room

6:30am – 9:00am

Arrival & Morning Routines

Self-directed play, morning registration, breakfast for early arrivals, and settling into the day with friends.

9:00am – 9:30am

Morning Meeting & Calendar

Group time discussing the day ahead, calendar activities, weather observation, and sharing news.

9:30am – 11:00am

Focused Learning Time

Literacy activities, numeracy experiences, science investigations, and small group learning. Morning tea is served.

11:00am – 12:00pm

Outdoor Learning & Play

Physical activity, nature exploration, outdoor games, and gross motor skill development.

12:00pm – 1:00pm

Lunch & Rest Time

Nutritious lunch, quiet activities, stories, and relaxation time for those who need it.

1:00pm – 3:00pm

Afternoon Projects & Play

Creative arts, construction, dramatic play, and continued exploration of learning concepts. Afternoon tea is served.

3:00pm – 6:00pm

Flexible Play & Departure

Indoor and outdoor play choices, quiet activities, reflection time, and meaningful connections during pickup.
