Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
Making Quality Early Learning More Affordable
At Fireflies Early Learning, we believe that every child deserves access to high-quality early education—and we know affordability matters for families. That’s why we’re here to help you navigate the Australian Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and make the most of the support available to you.
What is CCS?
The Child Care Subsidy is a government payment that helps cover the cost of childcare. The amount you receive depends on your family’s income, your level of activity (like work, study, or volunteering), and the number of hours your child attends. Most families are eligible — and many pay much less than the full daily rate.

How Much Can I Claim?
The amount of CCS you receive depends on:
Your family’s combined income
The type of care you use
Your child’s age
Your family’s activity level (such as work, study, or volunteering hours)
The subsidy is paid directly to Fireflies Early Learning, which means you’ll see the reduced fees reflected on your account—making it easier to manage your child care costs week to week.
Are You Eligible?
Most families with children enrolled in an approved early learning service like Fireflies will be eligible for CCS. To check your eligibility and apply, simply log in to your myGov account and complete the Child Care Subsidy assessment.
