What to Expect on Tour Day:

Your tour of Fireflies Early Learning is an opportunity to experience our centre firsthand and imagine your child thriving in our care. Here’s what you can look forward to:

A Warm Welcome

You’ll be greeted by a member of our leadership team who will guide you through the entire tour. We encourage you to bring your child along so they can see the centre too, though we understand this isn’t always possible.

Explore Our Spaces

Walk through our thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor learning environments. You’ll see age-appropriate rooms equipped with quality educational resources, natural materials, and engaging play areas that inspire curiosity and creativity.

Meet Our Educators

Our qualified and experienced educators are the heart of Fireflies. During your tour, you’ll have the chance to meet team members, observe them interacting with children, and learn about their teaching approaches, qualifications, and passion for early learning.

See Learning in Action

If you visit during operating hours, you’ll witness our play-based curriculum in action. Watch children engaged in purposeful play, creative expression, and exploration across various learning experiences throughout the day.

Ask Questions

This is your time to ask anything that matters to your family. Whether it’s about our curriculum, meal preparation, nap routines, communication methods, policies, or specific concerns about your child, we’re here to provide honest and thorough answers.

Discuss Your Child’s Needs

Every child is unique, and we celebrate that. We’ll take time to understand your child’s personality, interests, developmental stage, dietary requirements, and any additional support they may need to thrive.

Take Your Time

Tours typically last 30-45 minutes, but we never rush families. Take all the time you need to explore, observe, ask questions, and feel confident about your decision.

Operating Hours

We’re open Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, excluding public holidays. Our flexible hours support working families while maintaining consistency for children’s routines and wellbeing.

Age Groups We Care For

Fireflies welcomes children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age, with dedicated spaces and developmentally appropriate programs tailored to each stage of your child’s early years.

Nutritious Meals Provided

We provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea daily. Our meals are freshly prepared on-site using nutritious ingredients, catering to all dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences. Parents of infants provide bottles and formula as needed.

What to Bring

Families provide nappies, bottles (for babies), a wide-brimmed hat for sun protection, and spare clothes. We provide cot linen, bibs, sunscreen, and all learning materials and resources.

Stay Connected

Stay connected to your child’s day through our daily communication resource, which includes photos, learning updates, meal and sleep information, and messages from educators. We also hold regular parent-educator meetings and family events throughout the year.

Government Subsidies

Most families are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs. We’re happy to guide you through the process of checking your eligibility and accessing available government subsidies.

Health and Safety

We maintain strict health and safety protocols, including regular cleaning and sanitisation, safe sleep practices for infants, comprehensive sun protection policies, and emergency procedures. All educators hold current first aid, CPR, asthma, and anaphylaxis management certifications.

Settling In Period

We understand that starting childcare can be an emotional time for both children and parents. We work closely with families to create individualised settling plans, allowing as much time as needed for your child to feel secure, happy, and comfortable in their new environment.
